The Table @ Philly

Amidst the epicenter of the opioid pandemic in Philadelphia at McPherson Square, we joined “The Table” ministry. What a joy to join multiple city ministries to wash & cut hair, give shoes & socks, and wash feet!

Some observations:

  1. Our volunteers from MD were surprised by the drug use in broad daylight.

  2. A homeless friend hated that we were there, but kept getting closer to us, eventually joining us after feeling heard.

  3. An addicted friend embraces our Pastor for 5 minutes; after being affirmed that God has thoughts and cares for you.

  4. We witnessed the boldest preachers, we’ve ever seen.

  5. “Knights of the Kingdom” who were former addicts turned kingdom riding soldiers, kept peace and order!

  6. We saw the power of assurance and humility demonstrated through Pastor Ben. By God’s grace, he is sufficient.

“We need communities and churches to come together as one. No one can take credit for what we do, we are working for His purpose.” - Pastor Ben Rosario
